Join the BC Eagles for the ultimate fan road trip experience for two (2) to South Bend, Ind. for the Boston College vs. Notre Dame football game on Nov. 19, 2011. 

Package includes: Round trip airfare for two (2) through Miami Air Charter, one (1) hotel room for one (1) night’s stay at Clarion Hotel in Michigan City, Ind., bus transportation to and from the game, two (2) game tickets, and one (1) Under Armour® BC gift bag.

Fair Market Value: $5,000.00

Terms and Restrictions: Buses depart from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass. on Friday, Nov. 18, 2011 (time TBD).  Winners must be on the buses 15 minutes prior to departure. The charter will return immediately following the game on Nov. 19, 2011. The winning bidder will be contacted at the conclusion of the auction with additional trip information.

*Please note that this is an official BC travel party and no other team gear may be worn. 

The following dress requirements are in place:

Charter Flight: Men – Business Casual: collared shirt, slacks (no shorts / no jeans) Women – equivalent.   
Game day: BC game day attire:  BC gear will be provided in the Under Armour gift bag.

The Jimmy Fund supports cancer care and research at Dana-Farber. The Jimmy Fund started in 1948 when the Variety Club of New England and the Boston Braves baseball team joined forces to help a 12-year-old cancer patient dubbed “Jimmy.” On a national radio broadcast, millions heard the boy visit with his heroes from the Braves as they stood by his hospital bed. Contributions poured in from people everywhere, launching an effort that continues to bring hope to thousands of children and adults facing cancer throughout the world.

Since 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of grassroots efforts to advance the lifesaving mission of Dana-Farber. Q: I’ve won the auction! What happens next?
A: A representative from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will contact the winning bidder via email or phone to congratulate him or her as well as confirm the payment amount and payment instructions. Payment must be in U.S. funds and received within seven business days of the close of the auction.

At time of initial contact Dana-Farber Cancer Institute representative will confirm the details of the auction items and provide specific details to coordinate prize pick-up or delivery and shipping. It is the winning bidder’s responsibility to check email, return phone calls, and confirm prize pick-up or delivery and shipping. Auction winners will not be refunded if they do not follow appropriate directions for prize pick-up or shipping and delivery.

Q: What are the accepted methods of payment?
A: We accept the following methods of payment: cashier’s check or certified check, or a credit card payment directly to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Please ship checks via one of the following traceable shipping services: FedEx, Airborne Express, DHL, or UPS. Please make payments payable to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. For auction items that require pre-approval, we do accept payment via PayPal.

Q: Will Dana-Farber refund my money if I do not want an item I won?
A: All winning bids are non-refundable, non-negotiable, non-extendable, non-transferable and auction items are not redeemable for cash or replaceable if lost or stolen. All bids are binding. DFCI reserves the right to issue another prize of equal or lesser value if this prize becomes unavailable.

Q: Will a receipt be provided?
A: Yes, an acknowledgement for the final bid amount paid will be provided by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and will arrive on or before December 31, 2011 unless otherwise stated.

Q: Is there sales tax?
A: No. You will not be charged sales tax.

Q: Is this purchase tax-deductible?
A: Any purchase amount above the fair market value of an auction item is tax deductible. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will provide each winner with a written tax acknowledgement letter as required under current IRS tax code. The fair market value of each auction item is provided in the description of the item before point of purchase. Prizes are taxable as ordinary income. DFCI is required to report to the IRS the name, address and social security number of participants winning a prize whose fair market value is $600 or more. Further, DFCI is  required to collect 30% of the FMV of any prize worth $5,000 or more before winners may receive prizes (i.e. 25% for federal taxes and 5% for state taxes) as applicable under current IRS tax code. The FMV shown shall not be negotiable and shall be used for tax purposes.

Q. Is bidding open internationally?
A: Yes.

Q. Are there any restrictions on participation in this auction?
A. All bids must be received by 12 p.m. eastern time on October 25, 2011. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, and a legal resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, as of October 25, 2011 in order to bid in the auction. By responding to this invitation, participants agree to abide by all terms of the Official Rules stated and the decisions of DFCI, made in its sole discretion, which shall be final. DFCI is not responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, for any human error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, responses, for line failures or other failures of any telephone network, server, providers, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof, for inability to access any web site or online service or any other error or malfunction, or for late, lost, illegible, misdirected or incomplete responses which may limit a participant’s ability to participate in the auction.

Q: Who pays for shipping and how will it be shipped?
A: Dana-Farber Cancer Institute will pay for all shipping costs. Unless otherwise stated in the auction listing, all items are shipped via UPS 2-day. Winning bidders must provide a physical address, phone number, and signature for delivery. We cannot deliver to P.O. boxes. Contributions will not be refunded for winners who do not contact Dana-Farber Cancer Institute by the time mutually agreed upon for experiences, tickets, etc. It is the winning bidder’s responsibility to check email, return phone calls, and confirm ticket pick-up or shipping. Again, contributions will not be refunded for winners who do not follow appropriate directions for ticket pick-up or shipping.
